CANADIAN WORK PERMIT
As per the law in Canada, a foreign national requires proper authorization, called Work Permit issued by IRCC in order to perform work in Canada. Neither family nor friends can offer work to foreign national without a valid Work Permit.
In general, Work Permits either Job Specific or Open Work Permit. Though Work Permit allows a foreign national to live and work in Canada, it is still a temporary resident visa. When applying for a Work Permit, you need to satisfy the Visa Officer that you will leave Canada at the end of Work Permit.
Before you apply for Work Permit, in most cases, a prospective employer must apply for and receive a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from Employment Social Development Canada (ESDC). The applicants of the Work Permit should submit the LMIA issued by ESDC to the Visa Officer with the Work Permit application.
Visa Valley is glad to assist you on your Work Visa application. If you are an employer who wants to hire a foreign national for your Canadian business we can offer our expertise in applying for LMIA with ESDC.
In some cases, you may be eligible for Open Work Permit (OWP), which is a Work Permit that is not Job specific. As OWP is not job specific, LMIA from ESDC as well as job offer from employer is not required. For more information, please contact us
