An Overview of Provincial Nominee Program to Canada

The PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) is a program designed for workers who wish to be permanent resident of Canada, want to live in that province, and have the required work experience, education, and skills for contributing to the economy of the selected province. Almost all provinces of Canada, except Quebec and Nunavut, have their own Provincial Nominee Programs. Typically, this program is linked with at least one Canadian government’s express entry selection system.

Purpose of PNP

  • Possibility of the increased Canadian immigration process
  • Despite being the second-largest country in the world, Canada’s population is quite low. Through PNP programs, provinces can help fill population gaps by facilitating the entry of immigrants.
  • The demand for labor is quite high in Canada. Through PNP programs, these demands can be easily met.
